What We Know: Police in Springfield are investigating a deadly shooting on the city’s west side.
What It Means: Officers responded late Sunday night to the 2500 block of West Water Street, where they found 32-year-old Paxton Barnett of Springfield, who suffered from gunshot wounds. Barnett was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
What’s Next: Investigators identified a suspect, who was later located and arrested by Greene County Sheriff’s Office. The case will now be presented to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office.
