A man from Tuscumbia has died in a house fire that started early Wednesday morning.
What We Know: Thomas W. Snodgrass, 69, of Tuscumbia has been identified as the lone victim in a house fire in the 2000 block of Highway 52 near Tuscumbia.
The Tuscumbia Fire Protection District says they responded to the fire around 2:45 a.m. and found the house completely engulfed in flames.
Tuscumbia FPD, with the assistance of surrounding fire crews, were able to extinguish the fire and later recovered Snodgrass after he was unable to escape the house.
What Remains Unclear: The start of the fire is still under investigation by the Missouri Division of Fire Safety and the Miller County Coroner’s Office, though officials say there is no evidence of suspicious activity surrounding the fire or death.
