Man from Ava Charged with Possession of Child Pornography

Officials in Douglas County are holding a man from Ava in custody on charges of possession of child pornography.

Larry Morrison, 48, was arrested Monday after authorities executed a search warrant at his property in which they said seized several different electronics that allegedly had images and videos of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

Investigators believe he was in possession of nearly 3,000 CSAM images and over 150 CSAM videos.

The investigation began after the Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force was tipped off by the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children that accused Morrison of distributing child pornography.

Morrison is charged with two counts of second-degree possession of more than 20 images of child pornography and one count of first-degree promotion of child pornography.

He is being held in the Douglas County Jail without bond. Deputies also discovered he has a prior felony conviction.
