What We Know: A Branson man is dead after his boat capsized on Lake Taneycomo early Monday morning.
What It Means: The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident happened around 1:10 near Point 13.
Troopers say the 46-year-old man was operating a 14-foot Jon boat when uneven weight caused it to take on water and overturn.
The man fell into the lake, struggled to swim and went underwater.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say he wasn’t wearing a life jacket.
This marks Troop D’s fifth boating fatality of the year.
