Man from Branson Sentenced, Enters Alford Plea for Shooting Roommate

A man from Branson on trial for allegedly shooting his roommate has now entered into a plea deal.

Eric Boehme was arrested in February of 2023 after investigators say he and a roommate got into an argument, which escalated and ultimately led to the shooting.

He was initially charged with first-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action, but wound up pleading guilty to just one count of first-degree assault.

Boehme alleged that he felt threatened by his roommate, and that he shot him in self-defense.

The roommate was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. He did survive.

Boehme entered into the Alford Plea in February. An Alford Plea is not an admission of guilt, but recognition that there is enough evidence to convict.

He was sentenced this week to ten years in prison at the Missouri Department of Corrections.
