Man from Camden County Sentenced in Double Homicide

A Camden County judge has handed down his sentence for a local man convicted of killing a mother and her daughter.

60-year-old Steven Endsley was given two life sentences, as well as an additional 47 years for the murder of Danielle Smith and her mother, Theresa Jackson, in the summer of 2016.

According to authorities, Endsley had an ongoing feud with Smith because of her sexual identity as a lesbian, and that’s why Endsley killed her and her mother.

Prosecutors also believed after killing the two, Endsley then set fire to their mobile home with the bodies still inside.

The prosecution used numerous phone calls, text messages and other means of communicating that indicated a pattern of harassment from Endsley.

The defense argued that there was not enough evidence to convict.

Endsley’s prison sentence will be served without the possibility of parole.
