Man From Monett Facing Multiple Sexual Abuse Charges

A man from Monett has been charged after multiple reports of sexual abuse submitted to the Barry County Sheriff’s Office.

Jason Sikes faces charges of two counts of first-degree statutory sodomy, one count of second-degree statutory sodomy, one count of second-degree statutory rape, one count of second-degree child molestation, one count of third-degree child molestation with a child less than 14, three counts of incest, and one count of attempt to furnish pornographic material to a minor.

According to the probable cause statement, a Barry County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a past report of sexual assault that involved multiple victims.

Law enforcement interviewed one victim on August 1st, who disclosed several sexual abuse incidents perpetrated by Sikes and multiple sexual misconduct incidents with individuals between the ages of 11 and 14.

The Barry County Sheriff’s Office says that the incidents occurred between 2012 and 2020.

Sikes is currently being held in the Barry County Jail without bond, awaiting a preliminary hearing that’s scheduled for September 11th.
