A man from Republic is facing criminal charges after allegedly opening fire near Glendale High School in Springfield.
Prosecutors are considering charges against 20-year-old Keyshawn McElroy for his role in the shooting, which occurred on January 28 along Linden Avenue near Seneca Street.
Investigators say they were called to the scene and discovered a parked car in the parking lot of the high school that had several bullet holes.
Later that day, a man was reported at a local hospital with a gunshot wound, saying he was shot at the same location.
Formal charges are expected to be released at a later time.
