Man from Seneca Facing Charges in Connection with January 6 Riots

A man from Seneca is in custody, facing federal charges for his alleged role in the January 6 insurrection two years ago.

Prosecutors in Washington D.C. say 26-year-old Kyler Bard has been charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer and civil disorders.

Investigators with the FBI located him with images taken during the attack on the Capitol.

Witnesses say Bard was at the scene ordering commands through a megaphone, and pushed a Capitol Police Officer.

Officers say Bard was arrested in Joplin on January 13. He is being tried in the Western District of Missouri.

Including Bard, more than 950 people have been arrested and charged in connection with the events on January 6, 2021.
