Man from Springfield Accused of Stabbing a Woman while She Held a Baby

A man from Springfield is in custody after he allegedly attacked a woman that was holding a baby, stabbing her multiple times.

Springfield Police say Octavian Johnson called 911 Monday morning and told dispatchers he was about to commit murder.

He woke up the female victim and told her to put down the three-month-old baby she was holding.

When officers arrived, they found the victim with multiple stab wounds on her body that were classified as serious injuries.

The baby was not hurt.

Johnson was arrested on Tuesday walking along a highway in Branson.

He is charged with armed criminal action, endangering the welfare of a child, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful use of a weapon. Police also discovered outstanding warrants for him in Las Vegas.
