What We Know: A 76-year-old man from Cedar County survived a freak accident after a bulldozer partially rolled over him.
What It Means: The Olympia Rural Fire Department says the man was driving up an embankment when the seat broke loose, causing him to fall behind the bulldozer.
The machine then rolled backward, with one of the tracks rolling over both of his legs.
Firefighters say a loose fuel cell stopped the bulldozer from rolling any farther.
Crews stabilized the machine and dug the man’s legs out.
What’s Next: Despite the ordeal, he was released from the hospital the same day with a broken ankle and a crush injury to his foot.
