Missouri has joined the nationwide campaign against illegal robocalls, called Operation Robocall Roundup.
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has sent letters to more than three dozen telecommunications companies demanding an end to their transmitting unlawful robocalls.
Other Attorneys General across the U.S. are taking part in the movement, sending letters of their own to telecom companies across the nation.
According to the Attorney General’s office, 37 companies have received warning letters so far, and Bailey said that these same providers have failed to respond to the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) traceback requests for robocalls and have not filed a plan on how they’ll block these illegal calls going forward.
Any Missourians who received unwanted or fraudulent robocalls can report them to the AG’s Consumer Protection Unit at 800-392-8222 or online at the Attorney General’s Office website.
