What We Know: Missouri State University and Missouri Southern State University are teaming up to give students a new path toward a career in athletic training.
What It Means: Under a new agreement, Missouri Southern undergraduate students enrolled in health-related degree programs may qualify for priority consideration for admission into Missouri State’s master’s degree program in athletic training.
Students must meet the graduate program’s admission requirements to be eligible. Missouri State will reserve up to two spots each year for qualified students, depending on available space.
The universities will also work together on academic advising and required coursework to help students prepare for graduate study.
The partnership comes as demand for athletic trainers continues to grow, with employment in Missouri projected to increase more than 12 percent by 2034.
