Missouri State University Reporting Racist Text Messages Against Black Students

Missouri State University, as well as several other colleges across the nation, are dealing with a recent outbreak of racist text messages being directed towards black students.

According to students at MSU, the text messages are saying, “Congratulations! You have been selected to pick cotton at the nearest plantation.” The messages go on to detail where the students will be directed and when they will be “transported”.

At the end of the message, witnesses and victims say it read, “Sincerely, a Trump supporter.”

The messages are being reported on around the country, and have become rampant since Donald J. Trump won re-election against Kamala Harris on Tuesday in the presidential election.

Officials at Missouri State also reported on Friday that racist graffiti was found in a restroom on campus earlier this week.

The university, its officials, students, and the Springfield Chapter of the NAACP are publicly condemning the actions.
