Moon Files Legislation to Keep LGBTQ Conversations Out of Schools

State Senator Mike Moon has introduced legislation in the Senate that would largely ban K-12 public school teachers and counselors from talking about sexual orientation and gender identity.

Critics say Moon’s bill is more restrictive than Florida’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” law.

The bill would allow only licensed mental health care providers to talk to students about gender identity and LGBTQ issues and only if guardians first give permission.
