Motorcycle Crash Leaves One Dead in St. Clair County

Authorities in St. Clair County say a traffic crash killed a motorcyclist over the weekend.

Reports say officers responded to the scene just outside of Collins Saturday evening, May 28, at around 6 p.m.

When police arrived, they found 63-year-old Terry Hirschy with severe injuries.

According to investigators and witnesses, Hirschy was travelling along the road when he attempted to cross traffic. As he was turning, Hirschy collided with a pickup truck.

Hirschy was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck suffered some minor injuries.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D reports this as their 40th fatality of the year.
