What We Know: A man from Springfield has died following a motorcycle crash on Thursday night at the intersection of Cherry Street and Dysart Avenue.
Police in Springfield say the crash happened around 8:56 p.m. on June 18.
Investigators said a 2008 Chrysler Sebring driven by 19-year-old man was traveling east on Cherry and attempted to turn left onto Dysart.
Police say the vehicle turned into the path of a westbound motorcycle.
What It Means: The motorcycle, a 2022 Kawasaki Ninja, was ridden by 30-year-old John Cram of Springfield. Kelsey Huyck, 32, of Springfield, was riding as a passenger.
The motorcycle struck the car, ejecting both riders.
Cram and Huyck were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Cram later died from his injuries. Huyck remains hospitalized in serious condition.
What’s Next: Police arrested the driver of the car on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked him into the Greene County Jail.
The crash remains under investigation.
The crash was Springfield’s 10th fatal traffic crash of 2026 and the 11th traffic-related death recorded in the city this year.
