Willard’s police chief is asking folks to use extreme caution after a man wanted for a murder near Sedalia ran away during a traffic stop in his town.

Chief Tom McClain says Kenkori Grant, who’s 23, was pulled over around 3:00 am Sunday and ran away.

When officers checked for identification, they discovered Grant’s murder warrant.

Willard police asked the Missouri State Highway Patrol to bring in a drone to help search for Grant, who’s described as black, with black hair and brown eyes, and five feet, 10 inches tall.

Court documents say back in April, Grant and another man were involved in a fatal shooting in Sedalia.

Grant is charged with 2nd degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, child endangerment, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

McClain says there are some indicators Grant may have gotten a ride out of this area, but he can’t say so with certainty.
