The University Plaza Hotel held a naturalization ceremony for 23 new U.S. citizens Friday morning.
The ceremony was organized by the United States District Court for Western Missouri.
Participants came from 16 countries including Cambodia, Hungary, and Norway.
The event featured performances by the Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard. Attendees included representatives from the offices of Senators Josh Hawley and Eric Schmitt, and Congressman Eric Burlison.
A reception followed, offering new citizens assistance with voter registration, U.S. passports, Social Security, and literacy information.
