What We Know: When Forsyth lost a grocery store, it also lost a place where local families could easily pick up food. Now that same building is being used to help put food back on their tables.
What It Means: Christian Action Ministries has moved its Forsyth food pantry into the former Save A Lot on Main Street.
Executive Director Michele Dean says the extra space allows the pantry to buy and store more food when prices are lower. Families can also shop for the food they need instead of receiving a pre-packed box.
The building also includes the organization’s thrift store and more space to help people with other needs.
What’s Next: A ribbon-cutting is set for 4:30 Monday afternoon, followed by a meal and tours.
