Authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Dadeville.

Dade County Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person near Dadeville High School.

The suspect had an outstanding warrant from Greene County and was confirmed to be armed and dangerous.

After refusing commands to provide identification to deputies, he allegedly pointed what appeared to be a handgun at them, prompting deputies to fire.

The weapon was later identified as a non-functional replica.

The suspect is in stable condition, and no deputies were injured.

The investigation is being conducted by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Critical Incident Team.
