Officials say Greene County Sheriff’s Office is Understaffed

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday they are overstaffed.

Officials with the department say they are roughly 70 employees short, which has created a strenuous workload on the current staff.

The employee shortage is also causing efficiency issues with inmates at the jail.

Spokespeople also say the Springfield Police Department is facing an employee shortage as well.
