What We Know: Families dealing with Parkinson’s disease in Webster County have access to free wellness programs and support services they may not even know exist.
Cassie Locke, executive administrator of Parkinson’s Group of the Ozarks, recently visited the Marshfield Rotary Club to spread the word.
Locke says Parkinson’s involves more than shaking and tremors. It can also cause sleep problems, digestive issues, and changes in memory and thinking.
What It Means: The Springfield-based nonprofit has been helping families across the Ozarks for more than 25 years, offering sponsored wellness classes, support groups, and educational resources.
The organization is also seeking volunteers for special events, including a fair planned for April during Parkinson’s Awareness Month.
Anyone interested in volunteering can visit ParkinsonsGroup.org to learn more about the organization and its upcoming events, or find Parkinson’s Group of the Ozarks on Facebook to ask how they can help.
