Pedestrian Hospitalized in Springfield after Being Hit by Car at Sunshine/West Bypass Intersection

A pedestrian in Springfield is being evaluated at an area hospital after being hit by a car at a busy intersection.

First responders were called to West Bypass and Sunshine Tuesday afternoon, where the pedestrian was sitting in the roadway.

According to witnesses, the pedestrian attempted to cross the road southbound at a red light and was hit by a car going eastbound.

The pedestrian was evaluated at the scene and taken by ambulance to the hospital. Reports say they suffered non-life threatening injuries.
