State lawmakers have given final approval to photo ID legislation, which is now on Governor Parson’s desk.
It requires voters to show a government-issued photo ID to vote. An example would be a driver’s license. The bill also allows two weeks of no-excuse absentee voting.
Opponents say 200-thousand-plus Missouri voters lack ID, including seniors and disabled residents. Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft says his office helps Missourians obtain a free voter ID.
