Polk County Deputies and the Humane Society of Missouri rescued 27 dogs from property Friday.
The sheriff’s office received a tip about the abuse and neglect of several dogs.
Deputies served a search warrant on a property on State Highway 13 near Brighton.
The dogs were chained up without food or water.
Many were already dead.
They were taken to Humane Society headquarters in St. Louis for care.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says one person was arrested.
