Springfield Public School Employees will be getting a raise under the budget approved by the board of education this week.

The salary for starting teachers will be $43,200 dollars.

Cara stassel, Executive Director of Business Services for SPS, says the new budget also provides raises for other positions that were at a lower starting wage, including cafeteria workers. Cafeteria Supervisor, Lynette Wright says wthout those raises, the district would have lost quite a few workers.
