We’ve lost one of our beloved Honor Flight veterans.
What We Know: U-S Army Veteran Rosie Reid died on Thursday. She was actively involved in our Honor Flight of the Ozarks Radiothon over the last several years.
When She Served: Rosie served as a cryptologist in 1959 and 1960, decoding messages at the Underground Pentagon at Fort Ritchie.
On Being a Trailblazer: Rosie often said she was too young to know it, but there was a lot of pressure to do well and pave the way for other women because it was the first time the cryptology school had been open to women since World War II.
She was full of energy and loved giving of her time to promote the Honor Flight mission, and will be deeply missed.
