The Springfield City Council, as well as the Planning and Zoning Commission, will not be meeting at Historic City Hall for the near future.
Officials say the move will take place in October, with renovations on City Hall to begin around that time.
The renovations could take several years to complete, and are being paid for by the recently passed Level Property Tax for an estimated $6.3 million.
The designs include a new fire stairwell, elevator, as well as technology and security upgrades.
