Springfield has a new mayor.
Jeff Schrag has beaten former city council member Mary Collette with 61-percent of the vote.
He will replace Mayor Ken McClure, who could not run again after serving four – 2 year terms.
Schrag is the founder of Mother’s Brewing Company.
In the races for Springfield City Council, one incumbent returns and another is defeated.
Incumbent Heather Hardinger was re-elected to General Council Seat A, defeating challenger Eric Pauly.
Hardinger has served on council since 2021.
Zone 4 Councilman Matt Simpson lost to challenger Bruce K. Adib-Yazdi.
In other local mayoral and city council/board of aldermen races, Ozark Mayor Donald Currence wins re-election, defeating challengers David Snider and Eddie Campbell by several hundred votes.
Incumbent Chris Aiken is re-elected to the city of Ozark Ward 1 Alderman seat, with incumbent Jim Metcalf winning on Ward 3.
In the city of Republic, Incumbent Ward 2 councilman Darran Campbell is re-elected, with incumbent Brian Fields winning his race in Ward 3.
Franklin Hodges wins a 2-year term on the Fair Grove Board of Aldermen, defeating Jeffrey Danderson in the Ward 2 alderman race.
Timothy Cooke unseats incumbent Richard Icenhower in the city of Fair Grove Ward 3 alderman race.
