A second body has been found in the search that began Sunday in Lake Springfield.

What We Know: Wednesday morning, Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Springfield Fire Department confirmed that a second body was found and recovered in Lake Springfield at approximately 10:30 a.m. This is in relation to the search for three related missing people after an incident Sunday where they went over the dam and were swept away.

A girl was rescued Sunday and is still in the hospital. Authorities recovered the body of a 19-year-old woman found about a quarter mile downstream from the Lake Springfield Dam Tuesday.

One person remains missing in the lake. Crews will continue search efforts throughout the day, says Fire Chief David Pennington.

What Remains Unclear: The location and identity of the body has not been stated by authorities as of Wednesday morning. Another update on the search effort is expected Wednesday afternoon.
