Severe Storms in the Ozarks Monday Night

Large hail and damaging winds are the main threats with severe thunderstorms popping up in the Ozarks Monday night.

11:24 p.m. UPDATE: The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Taney County will be allowed to expire at 11:30 p.m. The National Weather Service says the storm that prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits. Gusty winds are still possible with these thunderstorms.

11:15 p.m. UPDATE: The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for eastern Stone, southwestern Douglas and southeastern Christian Counties has been cancelled. The storms that prompted the warning have moved out of those counties. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect for Taney County until 11:30 p.m. 60 mile per hour winds continue to be the main severe weather threat. We’re also getting reports that Cowskin Creek is over Highway Y in Douglas County.

10:45 p.m. UPDATE: The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for southeastern Christian, southwestern Douglas, Taney and eastern Stone Counties until 11:30 p.m. 60 mile per hour winds are possible as the storms move through Branson, Forsyth, Highlandville, Hollister, Kimberling City, Reeds Spring and Taneyville. Storms are moving east at 40 miles per hour.

9:52 p.m. UPDATE: The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for western Douglas County is being allowed to expire at 10:00 p.m. The National Weather Service says the storm has weakened below severe limits and has exited the warned area.

9:40 p.m. UPDATE: The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northeastern Taney and southeastern Christian Counties is cancelled. The storms have moved out of those counties. The warning remains in effect through 10:00 p.m. for western Douglas County. Quarter size hail has been reported in the Ava area.

9:27 p.m. UPDATE: The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northwestern Ozark County is cancelled. The National Weather Service says the storm has moved out of the county. The warning remains in effect for parts of Christian, Douglas and Taney Counties until 10:00 p.m.

At 9:16 p.m., the National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for southeastern Christian, northwestern Ozark, western Douglas and northeastern Taney Counties until 10:00 p.m. 60 mile per hour wind gusts and quarter size hail are possible as the storm tracks through Ava, Rome, Brownbranch, Goodhope, Garrison, Squires and Bradleyville.
