What We Know: The Springfield Art Museum is getting more than $81,000 to keep art in the community while its main building is closed for renovations.
What It Means: The money will support the museum’s “Art is Everywhere” initiative, which includes pop-up exhibits, hands-on crafts, and take-home art projects across Springfield.
Museum leaders say they didn’t want construction to mean putting community programs on hold. The goal is also to bring art into neighborhoods that may not have had much connection with the museum before.
What’s Next: The Springfield Art Museum hopes to have renovations completed in time for its 100th anniversary in 2028.
