The City of Springfield now owns Hammons Field.
City council members approved the purchase Tuesday morning during an 11:30 a.m. vote.
The $12 million price tag also includes several parking lots associated with the stadium.

The Springfield City Council is getting set to vote on whether the city will purchase Hammons Field.
City leaders say the vote will take place at 11:30 a.m. this morning during a special council meeting.
The meeting will take place at the Busch Municipal Building
An agreement is already in place, but today’s vote will either confirm or deny the terms.
