What We Know: Some good news for the Discovery Center in downtown Springfield. A million dollars in state funding is finally on the way.
What It Means: Governor Mike Kehoe had restricted the money when he signed the state budget back in June, but those funds were released Monday.
Discovery Center CEO Tyler Moles says the money will help pay for much-needed improvements, including heating and cooling, windows, flooring, and plumbing.
What’s Next: Moles says the goal is to keep the science museum operating for generations to come, giving children a place to explore science, engineering, and other career opportunities.
