A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for Edwar Eugene Woodruff (54), a Springfield man who has entered a guilty plea for unlawful use of a weapon. He will be sentenced October 19th.
According to court documents, a 911 call was received about 4:20 pm on June 26, 2023 from the 1400 block of east Commercial St.about an ongoing disturbance.
Upon police arrival both a witness and the victim were interviewed who told them Woodruff had pointed a black powder pistol at the victim and pulled the trigger twice.
The pistol failed to fire.
