Springfield Police Investigate Shots Fired Between Two Vehicles

Authorities are currently investigating a shooting that occurred in North Springfield Thursday afternoon.

Springfield Police responded to the area of Kearney and Weller around 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon. According to reports, a driver and a woman were arguing in a vehicle, when another individual pulled up in his vehicle and joined the argument.

The argument then escalated, resulting in both drivers drawing a weapon and firing shots at the other.

After multiple shots were exchanged, the man and woman fled the scene in their vehicle, while the other driver collided with a pole trying to leave.
