The Springfield Police Department is reporting a scam for residents to be aware of.

Reports say that an individual pretending to be a member of City Utilities is going door to door in an attempt to gather personal information from people.

Springfield Police say to not give anyone personal information without first calling City Utilities to verify the validity of the request and the representative.
