Springfield Police Chief Paul Williams says his department is working on a policy for enforcing a new ordinance that allows the city to tow vehicles with expired tags and registration tabs.
Williams says he wants the policy to allow a 30-day grace period to get a vehicle registered properly. Williams says officers will use their discretion and judgment before having a vehicle towed.
