What we know: A Springfield woman says she was pressured into signing a contract for more than $21,000 after reaching out to Orkin about a severe mouse infestation at her home.
What it means: June Chism says a technician from the company visited her home and told her she needed to pay the money to eliminate the mice. State Attorney General Catherine Hanaway says her office has received several complaints about the Orkin branch in Springfield.
What’s next: Orkin says it’s working with Chism to resolve the case, which is now in mediation.
