SPS Decides Against Pythian Location

Springfield Public Schools announced Wednesday that they have decided against building a new Pipkin Middle School on East Pythian.

In a news release, the Springfield Public Schools says they were no longer considering the 20.9-acre parcel of land at 3207 East Pythian, because its proximity to railroad tracks could limit access for emergency vehicles.

There were also concerns from stakeholders which led to the decision to continue looking for a location for the school.
