Drury University and its athletic department is mourning the loss of beloved former coach and athletic director Dr. Edsel Matthews. University officials announced Monday that Dr. Matthews passed away Sunday at the age of 83.
A report from the Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis put several Springfield-based Universities on a list of Universities “in danger” of closing. Drury, Evangel, and Southwest Baptist Universities are a step below the Foundations list
Drury University has a new president. Dr. Jeff Frederick will become the 19th president of the university on June 1st. He replaces John Beuerlin who had been interim president since March of 2023.
