A Kimberling City man is in Stone County jail after vehicle pursuit led to him assaulting three deputies.
What We Know: Gavin Lundgren, age 26, has been charged with resisting arrest by fleeing, careless driving, and three counts of third-degree assault after an altercation with law enforcement early Saturday July 18th.
Around 1:50 a.m. Saturday, officers saw Lundgren driving around 75 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone. The officers pursued Lundgren who then pulled into a parking lot, drove around a building and returned to the road.
After another deputy joined the pursuit, authorities say they saw Lundgren get out of the vehicle while it was still in drive and jump off a bridge into a nearby water source.
Southern Stone County Firefighters assisted in locating Lundgren in the water. Once found, three deputies were able to capture Lundgren, but all three sustained physical injuries, with two reportedly being headbutted.
Lundgren is currently being held in Stone County jail with no bond.
