Traffic Stop Leads to Two Arrests on Drug Charges in West Plains

West Plains Police have two people in custody after drugs were found in their truck, along with a handgun.

Authorities say they pulled over the pickup on April 2, and noticed a strong odor coming from the vehicle.

A K-9 unit with WPPD alerted officers that they detected drugs in the vehicle, which prompted a search.

During the search, an officer discovered a cigarette pack that had two baggies of methamphetamine inside.

A handgun was also discovered inside an unlocked gun box.

The two suspects, Miera Thomas and Damian Henry, were arrested at the scene.

Both Thomas and Henry are charged with possession of a controlled substance, while Henry is also charged with unlawful use of a weapon.

Thomas admitted to authorities that she would buy and sell narcotics in West Plains after they discovered $400 in cash on her person.
