Trial Date Set for Man Accused of Double Homicide in Branson

A third trial date is now on the books for a man accused of killing two people at a Branson restaurant.

Prosecutors say Miguel Melendez-Torres shot and killed Krystle Buhl and Richard McMahan in May of 2021 behind the Famous Dave’s on Country Boulevard.

The two victims were employee at the business, and had allegedly just gotten off work when they were confronted by Torres, who demanded money.

Investigators believe Buhl and McMahan refused, and they were shot dead.

Melendez-Torres is charged with:

  • Two counts of second-degree murder
  • Armed robbery
  • Attempted robbery
  • Two counts of armed criminal action

The new trial is scheduled to begin on June 10 of 2024.
