Two people are now in custody after a deadly hit-and-run crash in Hickory County early Sunday morning.
The crash happened on County Road 273 about three miles south of Hermitage at 12:20 am. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol an SUV driven by a 37-year-old man from Hermitage was headed north when he hit a 56-year-old man from Wheatland, Mo., in the roadway. The man from Wheatland was reported dead at the scene.
The Hickory County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook that they assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Central Hickory Fire reguarding the crash. Two suspects were then located and taken into custody.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol are continuing their investigation pending the filing of charges by the Hickory County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, according to the sheriff’s office.
