What We Know: Springfield Public Schools has announced the ribbon cutting for two new schools. Reed Middle School and Pipkin Middle School will both open new doors for the 2026-2027 school year.
When Will It Happen: On Thursday, September 3, 2026 both schools will host a ribbon cutting. The new Pipkin Middle School will happen at 5 PM and will be at the new location of 417 W Lynn St, Springfield, MO.
At 6:45 PM, school officials will cut the ribbon for Reed Middle School at 400 W Atlantic St, Springfield, MO.
With two new schools opening their doors, SPS is also expanding with three other building projects. Pershing Middle School, Bingham Elementary and Bissett Elementary are all under construction over the coming school year.
