Fire crews in Camden County successfully rescued two people and their dog trapped by rising floodwaters in the Fiery Fork Conservation Area Sunday night.

What We Know: At around 10 p.m. Sunday, the Northwest Camden County Fire Protection District responded to reports of the individuals and a dog being trapped and were able to locate and secure them in the rushing waters.

The Missouri State Water Patrol arrived in a rescue boat to get the victims and dog back to shore. There were no reported injuries.

The NCCFPD were assisted by the Coffman Bend Fire Association, the Missouri State Water Patrol, and the Camden County Sheriff’s Office for the rescue operation.

What They’re Saying: NCCFPD is using the opportunity to remind people to never attempt to drive or walk through flooded areas, be aware that rising water can become powerful and unpredictable and to always respect posted warnings and changing weather conditions.
