UPDATE: Suspect Fatally Shot In Dade County Identified

Authorities have identified the suspect shot in an officer-involved shooting Wednesday in Dade County.

He has been identified as 54-year-old Wayne Simmons of El Dorado Springs.

Law enforcement was looking for him after he was identified as the alleged suspect in an armed carjacking in Barton County earlier that morning.

When deputies tried to take him into custody, he shot at them, and they returned fire, striking him.

They performed C-P-R on Simmons, but he died from the wound.
