A suspect is in custody after a standoff with Springfield Police.
Around 9 AM, a suspect forced the doors of a Pershing Middle School bus open at a bus stop then took the keys from the driver.
The students escaped during an altercation between the driver and suspect.
The suspect then barricaded himself in a house on South Barnes for eight hours before Springfield Police were able to arrest the suspect.
Springfield Public Schools said the driver and the students were not injured.
